Subject: Final Exam Scheduling in M-Pathways

Curriculum Maintainers,

Effective Fall 2010, schools and colleges will be required to schedule final exams in M-Pathways. With the implementation of shared scheduling of type 110 classrooms, tracking final exams in M-Pathways is critical to support the University mission of improving utilization of general purpose classrooms.  The Student Records, Curriculum and Academic Advising Advisory Group agreed to the decision to require schools and colleges to schedule exams in M-Pathways.

Access to the exam pages in M-Pathways will be available on March 31, 2010.  Detailed instruction on how to use M-Pathways to schedule exams, who should request and who is granted access will be sent to class maintainers and unit liaisons next week.

We realize that there is a significant difference in when schools and colleges schedule their final exams.  Entering exam data into M-Pathways prior to when the Registrar’s Office centrally schedules exams will reduce any unforeseen issues.  Currently these dates are:  Fall Term - mid October, Winter Term - mid February, Spring Term - mid May, Spr/Sum and Summer Terms - mid July.  These dates are subject to change in the future.  Accurate dates on these and many other deadlines can be found at http://ro.umich.edu/curriculum_maintainer_resources.php.

Engineering, Public Policy, Kinesiology and LS&A already have their exams scheduled centrally in M-Pathways. For these four units, there is no change in procedure.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please feel free to contact me by replying to this e-mail.

Thank you,
